The Templar Hierarchy[edit source]

The Modern day Templar Hierarchy gets more and complex and confusing over time, what happened to the good old days when the Grand Master was the highest title, this was before the Nine, General Cross and now Council of Elders. Abelzorus Prime (talk) 16:15, December 31, 2016 (UTC)

There is no mention of a "Grand Master" today. In fact he is the only leader of a rite. We would therefore have, above the rites, the black crosses in the service of the Inner Sactum (or The nine). Parlaelamente appears this Council of Elders led by Ellen Kaye, probably she is one of the guardians next to Alan, and 3 guardians the communication with the leader; General of the Cross. Spanish assassin (Talk) 16:30, December 31, 2016 (UTC)

I suppose that this Council of Elders will be an advisory body, formed by Great Masters and rites leaders. Monitor the actions of the Inner Sactum. Spanish assassin (Talk) 16:32, December 31, 2016 (UTC)

The back cover blurb of Templars vol. 2 and its recap of vol. 1 say the Black Cross answers "only to the Elders of the Order". Vetinari(Appointment) 01:15, June 5, 2017 (UTC)

The Council[edit source]

  • Guard: Who goes there?
  • Floyrac: A friend of the Temple.
  • Guard: Floyrac, the Council's message was absolute. You're not welcome here.
  • Floyrac: I must speak with the Grand Master.
  • Guard: He is in session. They all are. Another day, perhaps.
  • Floyrac: King Philip disagrees.

While I don't think the Council talked about here actually is the Council of Elders, this is the only reference of the leadership of a Rite classified as a Council and it is prior to 17th century where the earliest activity of the Council of Elders is known alongside other international governmental bodies of the Templars such as the Inner sanctum and Black Cross. Currently just curious on thoughts about this, no encyclopaedia or guide has ever spoken of the Rite leadership under a Grand Master as the Council of the Parisian Rite, although it does appear to be the only instance of such a function in a Rite.ACsenior (talk) 21:46, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

The Counsel in Black Flag[edit source]

That part is possibly my fault. Because in the Traditional Chinese version of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, the book translated the "The counsel" as the "長老會", which is a literal translation of "The Council of Elders". I didn't check the English version before I added it in. --UJ112013 (talk) 23:48, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
