Founder of the Assassin Brotherhood[edit source]

So does this mean just the Egyptian Branch like the Polo brothers were for the Italian and Constantinople branches? Or the Brotherhood in its current structure? Or the actual beginning of the Assassins? Because wouldn't that retcon a whole bunch of stuff. I mean Darius, Iltani, and Wei Yu predate Bayek by centuries not to emotion Eve who I though held the title as the founder of the group. Even Amunet and Brutus and co. are contemporaries and while Amunet might turn out to be Bayek's apprentice, I doubt we can same the same for the others. At the moment, it's hard to say. My guess is that a lot of the structures and ideas (the tenets maybe?) we now associate with the Brotherhood began with Bayek, but the concept of an Assassin, a lone agent that seeks to combat corruption through assassinations, most likely predates him, as we know from Darius, Iltani and Wei Yu. The Hidden Blade, at least, is known to have existed before Bayek so I would not consider him to be the TRUE beginning of the Assassins, but an important stepping stone of sorts in the Brotherhood's development.
That's just speculation on my part though, I'd have to go read the promotional material for Origins a bit more thoroughly. And even then, it's promotional material, it's not always in line with what is actually depicted in the game. Crook The Constantine District 06:46, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
Now that news of the game has been officially released, I was thinking of removing that line about him being the founder I wrote when the article was created based on leaks. I need to double-check if the official sources so far really mention that, or at least in that term, and I don't want to give off the wrong impression with my word choice. And yes, it would be a massive retcon, but I know that in the Gameinformer magazine, Amunet assassinating Cleopatra is mentioned, and Ubisoft said they would respect that and other previous lore, so I wouldn't see why they would dismiss Darius or Wei Yu or Iltani. Yeah I just felt that that one line was kinda misleading but haven't really done any research into what's all been officially released. If it is what they said I believe it was meant in the same capacity as Crook stated. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:14, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I will look through all the promotional material myself as well when I have the time to double-check the best way to word this. In the meantime, if you guys beat me to it, feel free to revise and remove it yourself. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 07:42, June 12, 2017 (UTC)

Possible date of birth[edit source]

I’m reading the Desert Oath prequel novel that is supposed to take place in 70 BC, and in the novel (which is told in first person through Bayek’s perspective) he states he is 15 years old. So that would place his DOB at around 85 BC. Should we add this info to the page? Pat Starrunner (talk) 17:19, October 21, 2017 (UTC)

This is contradicted by the prima game guide which I noted in the trivia. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:51, April 15, 2020 (UTC)
