Brotherhood isn't a main game[edit source]

I noticed that in this article, it states Brotherhood as being a main game, but I don't think it is. My reason for thinking this is because Assassin's Creed is a trilogy - Assassin's Creed I, II and III - Brotherhood isn't a major installment. Furthermore, each game (or ancestor, if you will) has three parts to the storyline: Assassin's Creed I had Altair's Cronicles as a prequel to the story of Altair, Assassin's Creed, the main part of the story, and finally, Bloodlines, in which the player could explore Altair's story further. Altair's Chronicles and Bloodlines are meant to be games that you can get, and will continue the story for you, but that are not necessary to the storyline. The same, I feel, is true with Assassin's Creed II: Lineage is a prequel, then comes the main game, and finally, Brotherhood.

While I recognise some will say "Brotherhood follows the modern day story as well as the story inside the Animus, whereas the other games (and movie) only fill in the ancestor's story", I still feel that the way Assassin's Creed III will be presented is in such a way that you could miss out the events of Brotherhood even though some big stuff happens in it (not trying to give away spoiilers).

But still, this is just my opinion; but I do think Brotherhood is a game you could miss out and continue the story of the series. Still, just an idea. Thanks, Akira Otomo Talk | Contributions 13:51, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

No, you can't miss BH and continue as if nothing happened. It contains important lore about both Desmond's quest and the Assassin Guild history. And Ubisoft classifies it as a major instalment, so we will keep that ;D -- D. Cello 21:39, January 5, 2011 (UTC)
Although this discussion is over, I'd like to note that Brotherhood is considered a main game because it basically continues AC2's story. it's not a spin-off story or anything, it moves both ezio and desmond's stories forward. Basically, we can consider the entire second part of Assassin's Creed's main story being encompassed by three games (AC2 BH, and Revelations).70.70.13.203 04:10, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Ezio Trilogy?[edit source]

Wasn't there a collection of II Brotherhood and Revelation on PS3 that should be mentioned?Akay4 (talk) 01:47, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think so, as the Ezio trilogy are still three games, which are still mentioned all here. We're not showing what editions of the games came out, only what games had come out and will. -- Altaïr 01:57, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Purpose[edit source]

What's the purpose of this page? We've got separate ones by now, no need for a blanket article. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:35, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

It's not a blanket article, it's an article detailing the series as a whole. Its purpose is to provide a general overview of the games and novels. It can also be used to keep track of current and future releases. I'm too sickly to come up with a better argument, but I honestly don't get why you would put it up for deletion... --Crimson Knight Intercom 16:43, October 11, 2013 (UTC)
^Agree with Eagle, it is supposed to give a general overview of the series and it's future.--ACsenior (talk) 16:57, October 11, 2013 (UTC)

Missing DLC[edit source]

Why did you guys delete from the list the dlcs and add-onns of the main games? they are still part of the story and i don't want to search them from some other part. This page, to make it a full game-media list, needs to have EVERYTHING.87.8.132.128 00:23, January 3, 2015 (UTC)

That edit was made by an anonymous user, not us. It's been restored. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:35, January 3, 2015 (UTC)

Assassin’s Creed: VR Experience[edit source]

Where we should place it? Ubi is saying it is not a game: “It’s not a game,” said Lewis during the presentation. Instead, he said, it’s a cinematic experience shot alongside the Assassin’s Creed movie at each location and set used by the film.

So we should place it into "Other Media" and create new section "VR" alongside with "Films", "Board Games", "Books" and "Comics" ?

So what do you think? unsigned comment by Kulurak (talk · contr)

Liberation HD[edit source]

Why doesn't Liberation HD count as mais series, it was released for the main consoles and PC and there is no difference to for example brotherhood, exept of the vita game CharlotteSmoothie (talk) 19:36, October 27, 2017 (UTC)

Audiobook[edit source]

Need a section for this, mainly for Gold but also the novel adaptations as well I guess. Just not sure where it should actually go and stuff. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 19:31, February 25, 2020 (UTC)

New transmedia classifications[edit source]

With Ubisoft's new transmedia initiative and their categorization of such as Classics, Chronicles, or Originals should we incorporate that into this page and the gallery. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 17:32, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

If we divide transmedia into these new categorie, will we re-organize all previously released comics, novels etc. too? Because i think we need to do it for all of them or nothing. But i think it would be better for gallery page so we can get rid of "Novel tie-ins", "Stand-alone novels", "Young adult novels" and replace them with original categories. But only if it takes effect for all of them, so we dont have categories we already have + 3 new ones. --Kulurak (talk) 17:57, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
That's a good point. They haven't actually recategorized earlier transmedia works even if we could guess at the branding. We should probably hold off and see how this initiative unfolds. 15:44, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Discovery Tours[edit source]

These are currently listed as standalone mainline entries. That feels off. Should we either count them as DLC or move them either to spinoff or other media? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 03:28, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

Is this still an active question? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:04, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
Looks like they been moved to be considered DLC for the various games they tie in to so unless you think they should belong elsewhere I think we can consider this closed. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:12, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Missing media[edit source]

Found these on the french wiki: https://www.amazon.com/grand-livre-%C3%A9nigmes-Assassins-Creed/dp/2501125827; https://www.amazon.in/Manuel-de-la-confrerie/dp/2016275464; https://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-Manuel-Templiers-sagesse/dp/2016275634. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 05:37, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

Okay. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:04, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Discontinued media[edit source]

Should we have a section either above or below Cancelled Media detailing discontinued media either mobile games/apps that are no longer available, functions like multiplayer that has been pared down, or games like the original version of AC III being delisted. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 08:39, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Yes. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:04, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
Do you have a preference for where it is placed in the article? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:05, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
I think it should go immediately above cancelled media because the works it covers are a step up from those which were never released at all. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 05:28, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Merchandise?[edit source]

This is an ongoing discussion.

Should we include a section for AC themed merchandise like the PureArts statues or gaming chair etc? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:41, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

If you want. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 21:04, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
Alright might take awhile to get to this given the low priority and high commitment/difficulty compared to our other projects. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 02:08, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
Okay I think I bit off more than I can chew given Displate has more than 250+ different AC themed art pieces for sale. Open to suggestions for this section.
Adding various retailers with merch:
Also hard to find a good listing of Ubishop/UBICollectibles since the Ubisoft site only seems to show games and dlc now. Lacrossedeamon (talk)
