Dates and information discrepancy[edit source]
On the page it says "where it came into the possession of Adolf Hitler just before the Nazi Party took power in Germany to begin World War II", the party took power in 1933, however the owners list showed that Hitler had the apple in 1939 from Ford. Batran99 (talk) 16:00, August 23, 2018 (UTC)
- The soruce provided is quite clear that the Apple was provided to Hitler before he came ot power, so the date against Edison's name is incorrect. I'll fix it now. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 08:17, August 24, 2018 (UTC)
Chronology?[edit source]
How could Abstergo repaired the Apple 4 in 2012 if Chapman had it since 1977?Francesco75 (talk) 11:31, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Short answer its most likely a retcon but if forced to deconflict without Ubisoft's input it’s possible by artifact they aren’t referring to the PoE but the Die Glocke or whatever device was used in conjunction with said PoE. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 12:53, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- I think we need an answer from Aymar Azaïzia who have surely a good explanation for this Apple who was in the hands of the Templars and the Assassins in 1943, returned to Hitler in 1945 before being killed by the Assassin, strangely returned to Neumann before 1957 and seems to be in two places at the same time. Maybe a time paradox?Francesco75 (talk) 13:02, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Conspiracies and Bloodstone pick up on some cool older elements of the lore, but sadly have quite a few retcons that could have been easily avoided, like was mentioned here. AC1 never clarified with Piece of Eden was used in the Philadelphia Project, and then Conspiracies says it's Apple of Eden 4. Not only that, but it's implied that the USS Eldridge did not travel in time as the AC1 email says, and the Apple of Eden was perfectly fine while the email says the artifact involved in the experiment was damaged and no longer worked. Then it's also highly unlikely that the Apple went from being in Pash's and von Neumann's possession in 1943, back to Hitler in 1945 after the Templars turned their backs on him, then back to von Neumann afterward. And then there's Chapman owning the artifact for forty whole years from 1977 to 2017 while the AC1 email says it was held in storage by Abstergo in 2012. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:49, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- I guess the issue is do we treat it like a retcon or not. According to Dorrison it’s not meant to be so this unfortunately becomes another one of those instances where even though it shouldn’t it seems to fall to us to make sense of the situation. I feel the easiest way to do that is to treat the "artifact" from the email as separate from the Apple but having been used in conjunction during the experiment, whether it was more Isu tech like a Precursor Box or manmade is unknown. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 16:48, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Theoretically the Piece of Eden that Hitler had in 1945 could have been something different. The only other "artifact" I can think of that the AC1 email would refer to would be Die Glocke, but since it's a big machine I don't see how that terminology would be appropriate. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:47, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
- In ACIV, there is a reference of an artifact hide in the Spire of St Petrus of Cologne during WW2. Miriam Kurtz was tasked to take it but we don't if she succeeded as the Third Reich captured her.Francesco75 (talk) 20:00, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
