Pic of him?[edit source]

Is this Achilles? http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/assassins-creed-3/bilder/original/47340,94536,2344141.html

Subjekt 13 (talk) 09:29, September 27, 2012 (UTC)

No. First, Achilles has dark skin tone, being of British-Caribbean descent. Secondly, you'd think a Master Assassin in 18th century would be able to swim. The other person is young Connor. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 09:59, September 27, 2012 (UTC)

Achilles didn't die in 1781. The final sequence (12), shows him alive but sick in bed while it takes place in 1782. If anytime, he probably died in 1782 even though it isn't shown. For now, because he's alive and well in the last chapter of the canonical storyline, I think it should be said that he's alive at least until the storyline ends. He could of died anywhere from 1782 to 2012. 66.131.163.32 02:42, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

Um, Achilles dies sometime in Sequence 10 not 12, get your facts straight. Also, he perishes in 1781 not 1782 and there isn't a possibility of him dying anywhere near 2012. The reason for Achilles still being around at the conclusion of the story line is because of the Homestead missions. Once they are all completed, Achilles disappears from the game because he dies back in Sequence 10. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 03:00, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

No, he doesn't die in Sequence 10. He is shown in bed in either 10 or 11 with Diana and he's sick. His tombstone is not present in the Epilogue after the credits. Plus, he can be seen walking around the Homestead AFTER the missions are all completed. 66.131.163.32 21:48, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

Achilles was shown on his bed in the cutscene of the first mission of Sequence 11, which was in 1781. Get your facts straight. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:50, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

I was close :P Besides, I have a terrible memory. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 21:51, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, there's another problem. Since Achilles dies in a Homestead Mission, it can take place in either 1781, '82, or '83. His funeral and everything isn't scripted to take place in a certain year (I don't think so, anyways), so how would that be written on the article? 66.131.163.32 23:54, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

"Some time between 1781 to 1783" pops to mind. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:59, November 10, 2012 (UTC)

And what does the Encyclopedia say? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:22, November 11, 2012 (UTC)

How do you know his ethnicity?

In the trivia of this page, it states,"Achilles was of British and Caribbean descent," but it never mentions this in the game. 99.33.1.171 01:38, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

Also, how do you know his wife and child died from typhoid fever? 99.33.1.171 01:54, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

Nobody reads Database entries anymore, apparently. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 02:05, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
Ubisoft strives to educate the fanbase, and yet the gamers who stray from such an opportunity as to get to know the characters more, begin asking pointless questions... Let ignorance extinguish, please. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 03:08, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

I read the Databas entries, and it doesn't mention anything about his ethnicity or the cause of his families' death.99.33.1.171 23:29, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

I did all the Homestead Missions and there was no funeral for Achilles. I even got the trpohie for completing all Homestead MIssions =s (Harlan1500 (talk) 08:31, November 14, 2012 (UTC))

Uhul guys! I bought the Encyclopedia in october and finally arrived for me yesterday... And I loved :3 Well, returning to the topic, in the page 287 it's wrote: 'During this time, Achilles (1710-1781) married a waman named Abigail.". I can take a photo if is necessary to comprove the authentic (edited: Another topic I forgot to mention about the desmond's death. The encyclopedia doesn't say anything about his official date of death) Miden (talk) 00:19, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Achilles' hat[edit source]

Does anyone know what kind of hat Achilles wears? I really like that style of hat but I don't know its name. Anyone know?

108.176.206.170 07:45, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Isn't it just some variant of Stetson's hat? Sadelyrate (siniath) 13:08, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Trivia correction needed[edit source]

"...contents of a man matching Achilles' description"

Should probably be clarified. I don't have "Tyranny", but I'm thinking stomach contents?  I'll bet it should be " contents of a box belonging to...", or belongings--or effects "of a man..." Jasonnorthrup (talk) 05:14, September 23, 2014 (UTC)

Profile pic Separation?[edit source]

Hello, I am a wiki user who tries to improve other wikis. One thing that kind of bothers me is Achilles profile pic. It makes sense using his more younger picture as his profile pic. But I feel more people know him as the old mentor that trained Connor than the Master Assassin that Shay fought. I noticed this thing that some wiki user put under a profile picture that allows you to switch between diffrent versions. Perhaps we could do that as a compromise?

Prohetofhurt99 (talk) 18:44, December 11, 2014 (UTC)Prohetofhurt99

We're using the current image because it depicts during his "prime". With the release of Rogue, the younger Achilles also gets screentime.--Bovkaffe (talk) 18:47, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

I don't really like the idea of separated main images. I prefer just sticking to one. It's less clunky that way. --Crimson Knight Intercom 18:51, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
As you wish but perhaps keep it in consideration
Prohetofhurt99 (talk) 19:03, December 11, 2014 (UTC)Prohetofhurt99
I wouldn't mind it personally, but I don't know how we'd achieve it. Probably through some fancy coding that I can't do :P Crook The Constantine District 19:07, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

Achilles Davenport[edit source]

Achilles should have been nicer to Connor when they first met.He was like "go away!what? No!" And Connor was like "I'm not leaving!Im not.Im never leaving. And also I don't really thing an old guy would make a very good assassin either. When they first met,I was so Connor. And even then,Achilles still probably tried to kill Connor. Now I haven't played assassin's creed 3,but am going to.And then I will see what it's like for Achilles to be a bitch to Connor!

Achilles is stated as captain of the Aquila during 1750. Robert Faulkner also thanked him for saving his his life ad crew

I can't understand how Achilles was beaten by Haytham considering in the forsaken novel Kenway was sevearly injured just 2 years before their fight. Also considering Achilles had a lot more experience it seems really unlikely he'd win

Profile pic[edit source]

This is briefly touched upon a couple of sections up, but would anybody be opposed to my changing the current profile picture back to this image. Whilst the current image is perfectly suitable for this purpose, the ACIII render does represent the latest chronological appearance we have of Achilles. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 11:53, September 30, 2015 (UTC)

If nobody objects by end of the weekend, I'll assume it's OK to go ahead and changed the image. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 15:51, October 3, 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for not responding, Jasca. I'm fairly ambivalent to which render we use for Achilles, since they're both very good quality. Was using the "latest chronological appearance" a criteria by the way? I hadn't heard of that. But yeah, go on ahead, I don't mind either one :) Crook The Constantine District 15:55, October 3, 2015 (UTC)

I personally prefer using a picture of Achilles in his 'prime', especially if it means having him in his Assassin robes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:01, October 3, 2015 (UTC)

The one for Altair is in his prime. I would say that is the precident. DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 16:28, October 3, 2015 (UTC)

Edward Kenway's robes[edit source]

I don't buy the whole "Connor's robes are actually Edward's" idea.

  1. They don't really look all that similar, to be honest
  2. Even if they did, the source provided explicitly states that it was an earlier draft; there's nothing in any of the final games that implies that they are the same robes

I think it would be better to mention in the trivia how they were at one point intended to be the same set because as it stands, I have a hard time believing that they are. --Crimson Knight Intercom 16:21, October 6, 2015 (UTC)

I've not read everything regarding this, but I do agree that the robes don't look very similar, if at all. Mind linking the tweet that says it was part of an early draft? I thought I read one that said that made it into the game :s Regardless, if it was only part of the early draft, then yes, I think it belongs in trivia. Crook The Constantine District 16:38, October 6, 2015 (UTC)
Here's the tweet. Says that it was in the original draft. --Crimson Knight Intercom 18:03, October 6, 2015 (UTC)

Simply "Achilles"[edit source]

So, according to Antoine Ceszynski (French conversation), Brand Team Project Manager, it's just "Achilles" not "Achilles Davenport". TOULOIR, membre du Conseil parisien (discussion) 15:44, January 22, 2016 (UTC)

I would be inclined to believe this if the games don't outright contradict this. He is called Achilles Davenport on the databases and that's what it says on his tombstone. If they want to retcon this now they'll have to do it with an explanation via some released medium. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:54, January 22, 2016 (UTC)

Exciting as it is to be in direct contact with someone working on the brand, it'd be nice if the information he provided didn't blatantly contradict canon. I realize this'll probably come off as a tad arrogant, but do these people know their own lore? Crook The Constantine District 16:04, January 22, 2016 (UTC)
