Description
There are few effective regulations for weapons on the sea although the different admiralties dearly try. For this reason, many patents have been issued for the manufacture of flintlock weapons at the Tower of London, in Birmingham, and at Dublin Castle. This prototype is a model that never saw service and is Irish in origin.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In spite of its name, the Royal Navy Sea Service Flintlock is actually based on the French Pistolet modèle 1786. This calls into question whether the pistol in Assassin's Creed canon is actually British or French. In reality royal navy sea service pistols had different design furthermore the appearance of the French M1786 pistol in Assassin's Creed III is anachronistic.
