Reindeer or caribou are a species of deer that are mainly characterized for their large antlers of its males. Historically, they live across northern Europe, North America, and Siberia.

History

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Ásgarðr and Jötunheimr, the Æsir lord rode a reindeer steed and had seen populations across the realms. In the 9th century, reindeer were located in southern England and northern Rygafylke and hunted down for their antlers, skin, and meat.
