The Order of the Sacred Garter is a British order of chivalry founded in 1348.

In 1868, following the death of the British Templars' Grand Master Crawford Starrick, Queen Victoria invested the Assassins Henry Green, and Jacob and Evie Frye into the Order as reward for their part in ending Starrick's plot to seize power. Members of the Order were granted the noble titles of "Sir" or "Dame", depending on their gender.
