Noah Watts (born 1983) is a Native American actor who voiced and provided motion and facial capture for Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

A member of the Crow Nation and descendant of the Blackfeet Nation, Watts was born in Livingston, Montana, and later grew up in Bozeman.[1]

Watts began acting on stage at a young age and developed his acting skills while in high school. He also worked on his acting craft in the form of speech and debate contests and won fourth place representing Montana at the National Forensic League National Tournament.[1]

Graduating from high school, Watts won a scholarship to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduating, Watts moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.[1]

Assassin's Creed[edit | edit source]

In late 2011, Watts got a call from his agent about an audition for an unnamed film set during the American Revolution. Eager to have a part in a period-piece movie, he went to the audition unaware that it was actually for Assassin's Creed III, in which he was given the part of the main protagonist Ratonhnhaké:ton, or Connor, a half-British, half-Mohawk Assassin. He began his work with Ubisoft for the title in January 2012. On-set while performing the motion capture, Watts worked to convey Connor's character through his movement and body language. As Watts was not a native speaker of the Mohawk language, he needed to have a language consultant beside him feeding him the lines, which he had to get correct before moving on.[2]

The game was eventually released on 30 October 2012. Watts also voiced Ratonhnhaké:ton in Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, released on the same day, and again in Aveline, a DLC for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag released on 29 October 2013. His voice was re-used for the remasters of Assassin's Creed III and Liberation, released together on 29 March 2019.[3]

In 2023, Watts reprised his role as Ratonhnhaké:ton for the first time in a decade in Assassin's Creed: Nexus VR, a virtual reality game released on 16 November.[1][3]
