Leroux was a French warden of a local prison that was situated in eastern La Bièvre, Paris.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Leroux worked at a local prison alongside his deputy warden Hugo Soulière during the French Revolution. While in charge, Leroux garnered a substantial gambling debt to the local gang Les Marcheurs Morts but made a deal to release some gang members to cover his debt. Leroux also requested to remove Hugo, noting Hugo's incompetence at his job and hostility towards him.[1]
Walking home one night, Leroux was followed and killed by Hugo, who was equipped with a weapon custom-made for the Les Marcheurs Morts. After dumping his body in a tannery, Hugo cut off Leroux's head and displayed it on a pike at the prison. Realizing all the issues Leroux had, Hugo planned to frame the gang for his crime. However, the French Assassin Arno Dorian discovered Leroux's body and investigated the matter. He rightfully accused Hugo as the culprit and took the deputy warden to jail.[1]
