When Odin sat on Hliðskjálf, his magical throne, he could observe the actions of every being in existence. His gaze could pierce through flesh and bone to perceive humanity's most intimate desires. After all, he was a god with an overwhelming appetite for secrets. This position of all-knowing watcher earned him the nickname "All-father."
Legends said that Odin would frequently travel through the Nine Realms of Yggdrasil, the Cosmic Tree, riding his eight-legged horse Sleipnir and followed by his raven companions, Huginn and Muninn. The quartet is represented here in this drawing.
