Laurent Doré (died. 1793/94) was the Theatre Troupe of Amiens' second lead actor.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Married to the ingénue Rose, their marriage was tumultuous due to his abusive and controlling behavior. He soon grew wary of his wife and her relationship with the lead actor, Barto. One night, his jealousy turned violent when he began to strike Rose, who revealed her affair with Barto. Angered, Laurent left with a razor to confront Barto.[1]

While his troupe readied for their production of "The Barber of Seville," Laurent tracked and killed Barto in the courtyard and headed towards their love-nest above a nearby café. However, he was tracked himself by Rose's brother and fellow actor Ficarron, who took the same razor and killed Laurent for his sister's abuse. The French Assassin Arno Dorian later heard of the crime and solved it for police chief Charles Cochon de Lapparent by correctly identifying Ficarron as Laurent's killer.[1]
