Legacy and influence[edit | edit source]

The Assassin Charlotte de la Cruz was read stories of Borges' in her youth by her grandmother Florencia, a fact she discussed with fellow Assassin My'shell Lemair in 2017. Charlotte compared being in the Animus and reliving her ancestors' genetic memories to the protagonist of The Circular Ruins who dreamed up a man to create, only to discover that he too was dreamed up by someone before him.[1]
