Hreidmar Palace

Hreidmar Palace (Runic: ᚼᚱᛅᛁᛏᛘᛅᚱ ᛒᛅᛚᛅᚴᛁ) was the mountaintop palace of the late King Hreiðmarr in southeastern Gullnámar, Svartálfaheimr. During the Muspel invasion, the palace was overrun by Muspel warriors led by Surtr's illegitimate son Glöð.
History[edit | edit source]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, Havi travelled to Hreidmar Palace after the dwarf Fritjof told him of a relic he found earlier and how the Mupels had taken it.[1] Odin arrived at the palace to search for the relic and heard Glöð scolding Einar. Entering the palace, Havi saw Glöð forcibly interrogating Einar, only for them both to notice his observing. Glöð threw Einar at Havi and escaped, leaving them surrounded by Muspel guards, but Havi fought them off and quickly carried Einar away from the palace.[2]
Through his travels, Odin found and collected a story called Gæfuleysi and the Rancid Troll from a pile of boxes outside the palace.[3] Odin also stole two platinum ingots from two Muspels at the palace and found a locked chest that contained a war hammer called the Legacy of Ivaldi. Attached to the palace, Odin found an incomplete light puzzle setup besides a locked small building. Odin solved the light puzzle and unlocked the small building, which held a Book of Knowledge that let him learn the ability "Explosive Retreat."[4]
