The Vaticano, or Vaticano District, was one of the four districts of the city of Roma. It was situated west of Castel Sant'Angelo on the bank of the Tiber river.

The district was the location of some of the city's greatest landmarks, such as the Basilica di San Pietro and the Cappella Sistina.

One of the most notable events of the district had Ezio Auditore infiltrating the Basilica di San Pietro, where he confronted Pope Alexander VI but failed to assassinate him. Both of them used their respective Pieces of Eden, the Apple and the Staff, but the Pope eventually gained the upper hand, and took the Apple from Ezio. When the Pope attempted to gain entrance to the Vault underneath the Sistine Chapel, Ezio confronted him again and managed to overpower him.
