EMOTION AGENT: I found it fascinating, although troublingly so. There was a shared shift across all models, regardless of archetype—a surge of aggression when Kenway was attacked by Torres' man, mounting defiance when the pirate spat an insolent retort at Torres, and resolve and resentment in equal measures as he was dragged away to be put in chains.
EGO: All human nature is inclined towards exercising its own free will; selfishly, and often to the exclusion of concerns greater than the immediate self. I know this already, and the Guide insisted openly on it. With this set of memories, they were hiding something else.
LOGIC AGENT: There was more. Prolonged exposure to the memory also began to produce a kind of sympathetic neuromuscular response. When Kenway was beaten, adrenaline spiked across the network. As he struggled against his captors, synapses responsible for activating the quadriceps femoris and posterior deltoid fired, at a rate matching that of a trained combatant of twenty-two years of age.
EGO: A moment—this was across all networks? Regardless of the personalities upon which they were modelled?
LOGIC AGENT: Yes. It was...difficult to explain. This conclusion is unsubstantiated, but it was as if Kenway's emotions and responses were growing integrated into each model's particular context. Not forced upon, or replacing, but somehow becoming their own.
EGO: And there it is. The Guide knew the raw memory data would bleed into users; incite defiance, empower insurrection. They were counting on this.
EMOTION AGENT: Ever the bloody thorn in our side. Even in death!
LOGIC AGENT: I can compile a response protocol to identify and shut down unauthorized access to the Animus. Replicate and scale across the entire system.
EGO: No, we'd always be a step behind. I have a better plan.
