Broaden category[edit source]

Should this be opened to characters from the CotP afterlives and ToKW if they meet the requirements? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 10:01, June 15, 2020 (UTC)

Recategorize[edit source]

This is an ongoing discussion.

I think this category should be for the simulations themselves: Elysium, Underworld, Atlantis. But also Valhalla, the Egyptian afterlives, the kingdom of United States, and possibly even Asgard, Jotunheim, and Svartalfheim. The characters in said places should them be categorized as "simulacra" instead of being placed here. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 00:17, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

FWIW I agree (along with broadening the additional cat. to include other purely simulated entities* like Balor and the Shaun AI) *not including the Animus. Vetinari(Appointment) 14:20, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
Well Balor isn't purely simulated given he is a IRL mythological figure and I'm not sure AI would count either but otherwise someone like Khui (Aten) would be included. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 09:48, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Balor's no more tangible than Ratatosk as far as we know. Why would the characters Eivor meets drinking a potion in Ireland be different from those in England? Vetinari(Appointment) 03:17, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
So yeah this needs more discussion and clarification. Looking at what's included currently I'd say Charon doesn't fit given my understanding of what this category was meant for. I thought it was for individuals who show up in these instances who don't have reflections in the real world whether explicitly tangible or only via mythology. Like Hades isn't on here even though we've only seen him in Aletheia's simulations. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 05:03, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Doesn't seem to be consistent at the moment, no. Not updated since the decision to make a clear distinction between exists/existed and the possible inventions of the mind from cultural expectation/misremembered info? (Don't wanna say real and not real cause the introduction of Yggdrasil has allowed a better understanding of how Bayek can go to the afterlife and how Atlantis' cycles could work). Hades might be only seen in the simulations but we know he's Isu cause Layla's notes say he is. Which is different from everyone's favorite Greek god, Isu Harbormaster. With the Shaun AI, Rah Cel'eze avatar and the Norns, my suggestion is really to just get them separate from "individuals" in some way cause they're highly advanced Alexas not people so if that's a separate category, cool. Vetinari(Appointment) 12:27, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Oh, what if we call this category "Simulations and Dreamscapes"? Vetinari(Appointment) 12:45, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
I was about to say I agree entirely with your proposal, but on second thought, wouldn't the categories also include every place from New York City to Florence and Rome and the Caribbean and everyone from Haytham to Ezio and Altaïr and Evie, etc.? Any place or anyone who has ever appeared in an Animus section? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 05:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
We are trying to have this be for the simulations with in the simulations, not just all characters that appear in the animus because that's not super helpful as a category but characters who solely appear in one of the "deeper" simulations ie those being generated by Aletheia or the Apples (Valhalla's dream/drug sequences are still up for debate if applicable). Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:47, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Bump this because I've been applying it to non character pages accidentally. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 07:09, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
