Célestine was a French maid at the Café Théâtre. From her time working there, she spotted both Augustin Grisier and Charlotte Gouze talking secretly and informed her intendant. However, she rebuffed to mind her own business. Célestine continued to snoop around and was later encouraged by the intendant to keep spying on Grisier.
