Célestine was a French maid at the Café Théâtre. From her time working there, she spotted Augustin Grisier and Charlotte Gouze talking secretly and informed her intendant. However, she was told to mind her own business. Nevertheless, Célestine continued to snoop around the café and was later encouraged by the intendant to keep spying on Grisier.
