Breed's Hill is a hill in Charlestown, where most of the fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill took place during the American Revolutionary War.

Description[edit | edit source]

Breed's Hill had an advantage over Bunker Hill for its closeness to Boston. It was easier to fire artillery at the city from here. However, it was also a lot easier for Boston to fire back.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • There is no specific information about why William Prescott chose this spot over Bunker Hill. One possible reason is that Prescott did not know how vulnerable Breed's Hill actually was.[1]
