Anderitum Hideout

The Anderitum Hideout, also called Antreminium, was one of the Saxon Shore forts established by the Roman Empire during their occupation of Great Britain in antiquity. Situated in the south Suthsexe, it was abandoned after the Roman exodus in the 5th century and came to be settled by a bandit tribe known as Aellengi in the 9th century.

In the 870s, the hideout was visited by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir. After killing the bandits and navigating her way through the fort tunnels, Eivor recovered a pair of vambraces belonging to a Roman Hidden One Mentor in a treasure chest.
