Aegir's Hall

Aegir's Hall was the main hall named after Ægir and was frequented as a place of feast, in southern Jötunheimr.

History[edit | edit source]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time at Jotunheim, Odin met with Aegir's Daughters, who welcomed Odin into their little party. During the festivities, Odin and the daughters started to drink heavily as they recollected past events, revolving Aegir's cauldron from Thor and its delivery to Suttungr at Útgarðar. However, their drinking proved too much as Odin fell drunk. After a while, Odin woke up in the rafters of Aegir's Hall and began to retrace his steps before being falling asleep, to remember what he did moments before.[1] Through his travels, Odin found a chest within the hall's upper level, but it was locked. Searching the vicinity, Odin found the key within the large barrel of mead nearby and opened the chest. From the chest, Odin collected Ymir's Blood Stone.[2]
