'Abis Dagger

The 'Abis Dagger was the personal, poisoned dagger owned by Musa ibn Nusayr Fort's warden 'Abis,[1] who acted[2] as the head of a robbers gang that plagued al-Ula in the 860s.[3] In the 860s, the Alamut Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq escaped his incarceration and happened to find 'Abis' prison laboratory while looking for an escape route. Basim fought and killed 'Abis, who used his last moments to retaliate by plunging his dagger into Basim's chest, poisoning him.[1]

Immediately afflicted by the toxin's sheer potency, the Hidden One extracted the blade and endured the poison long enough to escape the fort, though he collapsed from exhaustion outside the Travelers' Camp where he and his peddler friend Dervis were based. Alerted to his comrade's situation, Dervis found and nursed Basim back to health, a process that took some time. While Basim recovered, Dervis ventured into the fort to learn more about what happened and recovering the blade, which he later gifted to Basim.[1]
