Anbar Hideout

The Anbar Hideout was a hovel in the west of Anbar which served as the home of Basim Ibn Ishaq in his early years as a street thief before joining the Hidden Ones.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In December 861, after being chased by the Caliphate guards for his accidental murder of caliph al-Mutawakkil, Basim abandoned the hideout and fled with the Hidden Ones Roshan.[2] He would not return until a few years later, when he sought to locate his friend Nehal, whom he saw present at the Caravanserai west of Baghdad. After the two caught up with each other, Nehal showed Basim a symbol on the hideout's wall, similar to the one on the artifact stolen by Basim from the Winter Palace years prior, which the Hidden One decided to investigate.[3]
Sometime later, Basim returned to the hideout to speak to Nehal once again, this time following his falling out with Roshan, who had been trying to suppress his true nature. After telling Nehal that she was right to doubt the Hidden Ones, Basim decided to disobey Roshan's orders not to investigate the Alamut Temple and travelled to Alamut, with Nehal by his side.[4]
