'Abis Dagger

'Abis Dagger

The ''Abis Dagger was a poisoned dagger used by 'Abis, the prison master of Musa ibn Nusayr Fort in Al-Ula, as well as one of the leaders of the robbers that plagued the region in the 860s.

In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq assassinated 'Abis, who used his last moments to retaliate by plunging his dagger into Basim's chest, poisoning him. The Hidden One managed to endure the poison enough to escape from the fort, leaving the dagger behind, though not enough to reach his destination, collapsing from exhaustion. Dervis found and nursed Basim back to health, a process that took some time. He also ventured into the fort to learn more about what happened, recovering the blade, which he later gifted to Basim.
