A silver Templar coin

The Templar coins were a currency issued and used by the Knights Templar during the time of the Crusades. Made of bronze, silver, and gold, these coins were later scattered throughout Limassol and Kyrenia on Cyprus or held by Templar guards, pirates or duelists on the island. From 1191 to 1193, the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad obtained numerous Templar coins from Acre's harbor, Limassol and Kyrenia.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Templar coins were collectible items in Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines. Collected Templar coins were exchanged for points, which were then used to purchase upgrades within the Animus, with bronze coins being valued at 1 point each, silver at 10 points and gold at 50 points. A total of 65 silver and 13 gold coins can be collected in the game, while bronze coins are awarded for completing quests, helping citizens, and synchronizing viewpoints (30 each), as well as killing Templars and pirates (1-2 coins each).
