Aswig was an Anglo-Saxon bard in England during the 9th century.

Biography

Aswig worked as a bard, making songs and rhymes. Much to the annoyance of many local residents, Aswig often imposed on people when singing, following them around. One day the locals had enough and tied up Aswig at some ruins in Essex. When Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan encountered a tied up Aswig, she decided to help out. She soon regretted it however, as Aswig choose Eivor as her new muse, and started following her around. After killing some wild boars nearby to give her some inspiration, Eivor paid Aswig to leave her alone.[1]
