Íssvín was a wild boar reanimated by Hel to be utterly devoid of heat, along with Íssulfr, the wolf. Due to their nature, these cold-based creatures possess shorter lifespans and are more susceptible to bursts of electricity.[1]

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin at Niflheimr, the Isu fought Íssvín at Kaldstad during his efforts to reach Hel at her castle.[2]
