Yangzhou General's Residence was the manor owned by Grand General Meng Tian in Yangzhou City, Shang Commandery during the Qin dynasty.
History
In 215 BCE, one of Jade Spring's youxia infiltrated the mansion to gather proof of Meng Tian's involvement in the attack that massacred the inhabitants of their village. During their search, they found a notice emmited by the general that demanded the report of the division of purple-garbed soldiers responsible for the assault that had apparently acted outside of his command. The youxia then left the place to find their companion Yu Ying and report their findings to her.[1]
After their eventual encounter with Meng Tian, during which they helped defend a section of the Great Wall of China from an attack of Xiongnu raiders,[2] the same individual returned to the estate to attend a formal audience with the general at his request. While they waited for their host, they witnessed an intense political discussion between Meng Tian and Qin Shi Huang's advisor, who was being escorted by the true responsible for the attack, captain Yang Duanhe. The youxia rushed to intercept the man but Meng Tian's guards mistook their intentions and attacked them. After the youxia killed them in self-defense, the general intervened and fought them until their subjugation. When about to deliver the killing blow, an artifact on the individual's possession gave them the strength to deflect the attack. The relic's glow pointed Meng Tian to the youxia's connection to Wei Yu, a former comrade in arms of his. The youxia then explained their reasons for attacking the commander, after which the general told them of a link between the corruption in the Qin military and the Xiongnu.[3]
The disciple was then dismissed,[3] meeting Yu Ying at the entrance to the estate where they considered their options.[4]
