Whiskey

Revision as of 05:07, 17 January 2023 by imported>Sol Pacificus (I like the attempt to not copy Wikipedia's lede, but being made from grain is what defines whiskey, not it being aged in wooden cases. / Project Legacy crafting isn't for just the Renaissance period. It is for all periods in Project Legacy, including settings as recently as 2003. / Are we sure the appearances list is incomplete? I don't think whiskey has been so ubiquitous across the series for us to assume it's been everywhere. Wasn't it only mentioned in shanties in Black Flag?)

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain.[1] Rye is one of the common grains used for whiskey.[2]

History

In the 9th century, whiskey was indulged in many areas of Europe, such as England and Scotland.[3] In fact, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan helped a brewer in Dunvegan Village prepare his "newfound" drink with his listed ingredients while her visit to the Isle of Skye.[4] By the 18th century, whiskey had become a popular choice of alcohol among the European colonists in the Americas.[5][6]
