"Military governor Wang Zhongsi single-handedly nurtured Geshu Han... and Wang Zhongsi is the Crown Prince's subordinate."
―Yang Guozhong and Wei Fangjin discussing Wang Zhongsi while at Mawei Station, 757.[src]-[m]

Wang Zhongsi (王忠嗣; c. 704 – c. 748), born Wang Xun (王訓), was a Tang Chinese general and politician who served during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong.

At a young age, Wang Zhongsi was taken in by the Emperor following his father's death, growing up alongside the Emperor's son, the Crown Prince Li Heng. As such, he was a close friend of the Prince and often spent time at his mansion.[1] Some years later as a governor, Wang Zhongsi was served by Geshu Han, who later became a powerful general late in Emperor Xuanzong's reign.[2]

In 757, at Mawei Station, during Yang Guozhong's conversation with Imperial Censor Wei Fangjin, Wang Zhongsi's name was brought up as the Golden Turtles sought to blame Geshu Han's defeat at Tong Pass Crown Prince, framing him as a conspirator with An Lushan for their defeat and failures.[2]
