The Concubine was a virtual representation of one of Basim Ibn Ishaq's genetic memories.

Description

Basim was tasked with rescuing a rebel spy from interrogation.

Dialogue

Basim scouted the streets outside the palace from a beam on a roof opposite the complex.

  • Basim: This is the place.

He summoned Enkidu to help with reconnaissance.

  • Basim: What do you see, Enkidu?

Enkidu flew over the barracks but an archer loosed an arrow at the eagle, scaring him away.

  • Basim: Let us reconsider the approach.

He dropped from the roof, scaled the palace walls, and found himself in gardens that were patrolled by guards. He approached a group of civilians talking while admiring the flowers.

  • Basim: Act as usual.

He blended into them to avoid detection.

  • Civilian 1: That guard who likes me said she and Ali's followers are trying to overthrow the Prince.
  • Civilian 2: What madness! They will surely fail.

Basim left the group and snuck through the palace grounds until he reached the watchtower where the archer who shot at Enkidu was stationed. He killed the soldier, freeing the skies for his bird.

  • Basim: The sky is safe, my friend.

He called on Enkidu to scout the area.

  • Basim: Survey the area, Enkidu.

Enkidu spotted the army captain.

  • Basim: There is my target.

Basim continued on to the palace's central courtyard, where he saw the prisoner in the center on the ground with guards all along the balconies.

  • Civilian 3: I heard His Favorite was a spy.
  • Civilian 4: And that could be why he had her locked up.
  • Guard Captain: You rebels need to learn your place!

He slapped the prisoner.

  • Civilian 5: Help!
  • Soldier: Tell me what I wish to know, and no more need die this day.

Basim assassinated the guard captain, but his act alerted the rest of the garrison to his presence.

  • Basim: Argh... come on!

Despite the garrison's attempts to block his escape and kill him, Basim successfully fled the area and lost his pursuers.

Outcome

Basim assassinated the army captain holding the spy captive and escaped the area untouched.
