Hugo Soulière was a French deputy warden of a local prison who worked in La Bièvre, Paris.
Biography
Hugo Soulière worked as a deputy warden in eastern La Bièvre under Warden Leroux during the French Revolution. After spending many years at the prison, Hugo became impatient and wanted Leroux's job. Finding out about Leroux's debts, he concocted a plan to frame the gang Les Marcheurs Morts for Leroux's death. After purchasing a sword custom-made for the gang, Hugo followed his boss on his way home and killed him. Ditching the body at a tannery, he decapitated Leroux's head and placed on a pike at the prison to convey a gang threat against himself.[1]
When the French Assassin Arno Dorian discovered Leroux's body, Hugo was questioned and explained how horrified he was and how he had not seen Leroux since yesterday. From Arno's investigation, he found out Hugo lied about seeing the warden yesterday as people noted Leroux missing for two days. After Hugo confessed to his crime, he was brought to jail by Dorian.[1]
