The Gilded Staff was a type of expertly forged staff used in the 5th century BCE Greece. Covered in fine gold, the staff shone in the sun.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Gilded Staff, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of other similar weapons in the same game, including Theo's Royal Scepter. These are all the recycled model of the Scorpion Sting, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
