The mother of Desmond Miles was the wife of William Miles and a member of the Assassin Order. She and her family lived together with around eleven other couples in an off-the-grid Assassin compound known as "the Farm" in the Black Hills of South Dakota in the United States.
She gave birth to Desmond in 1987, and often informed him of the secret war that the Assassins were waging with the Templars and Abstergo Industries. In 2003, Desmond ran away from the Farm, thinking his parents to be mere conspiracy freaks.[1] Desmond was also not able to deal with the emotional distance of his father, which his mother had learned to handle.[2]
The Farm was later attacked by an Abstergo team in late 2012. While William managed to escape before the team arrived there, it is not known for certain if his wife did as well.[3]
