Adéwalé

Adéwalé[1] was a former born slave from Trinidad, and a member of the Assassin Order. He was Edward Kenway's quartermaster[2] aboard the Jackdaw.[3]

During the Golden Age of Piracy, Adéwalé pointed out scenes of interest to the pirate Assassin, who could then intervene or ignore them. At some point, he helped Edward gain the Jackdaw and its crew.[4][5]

Trivia

  • Adéwalé is a variant of the Yoruba name Adebowale, suggested to mean "crown has come home." [6]
  • Ubisoft confirmed that one of the single-player DLCs included in the Season Pass will be focusing on Adéwalé's life which will be called Freedom Cry.[7]
