Burned Temple of Hera

The Burned Temple of Hera was a temple dedicated to Hera located west of the Phaleron Sunken Harbor in Attika, Greece.

During the Greco-Persian Wars, the temple was burned down by the Persian general, Mardonius. After the war, after than rebuilding the temple, Athenians replaced the statue of the goddess instead.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the temple ruins was visited by the Spartan misthios, Kassandra.[1]
