Breed's Hill is a hill in Charlestown, where most of the fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill took place during the American Revolutionary War.
Description
Breed's Hill had an advantage over Bunker Hill for its closeness to Boston. It was easier to fire artillery at the city from here. However, it was also a lot easier for Boston to fire back.[1]
Behind the scenes
- There is no specific information about why William Prescott chose this spot over Bunker Hill. One possible reason is that Prescott did not know how vulnerable Breed's Hill actually was.[1]
