- "Good choice. Welcome to the Assassins, Initiate."
- ―Bishop to the Helix initiate, 2014.[src]
Bishop is a member of the Assassin Order. She contacted an individual and tasked them to relive the memories of Arno Dorian in order to find the Sage operating during the French Revolution.
Biography
Some time after Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane recruit the Initiates into the Assassins, William Miles assigned Bishop as the Initiates' handler. She became responsible for helping them synchronize genetic memories form Abstergo Industries' cloud server, as well as operations against the Templars[1]
In 2014, Bishop contacted a Helix user, showing them the memories of a Templar at the service of Jacques de Molay, Templar Grand Master, before changing the focus to the memories of Arno Dorian. Once the initiate had completed the first sequence of memories, Bishop revealed herself and offered them a chance to join the Assassins.[2]
Once the initiate accepted, Bishop transmitted footage of Abstergo Industries' Phoenix Project, explaining that the Templars were searching for Sages both in the present and the past to map the Precursor genome. Arno Dorian encountered a Sage some time during his lifetime and Bishop wanted to find that Sage's remains before the Templars did.[2]
To accomplish this, Bishop supervised the initiate's Helix sessions, keeping Abstergo from finding out what they were doing, as well as decrypting Abstergo's confidential data during the initiate's forays into Helix rifts.[2]
The initiate's research determined that Arno had buried François-Thomas Germain's remains in the catacombs beneath Paris, leaving Bishop pleased with the results. She informed the initiate that Abstergo would determine the bones were too degraded for DNA extraction. She requested that the initiate continue researching Arno's memories and gather information that could help the Assassins.[2]
As the initiate researched another sequence of memories, Bishop detected a glitch in the system that locked them out of the Helix data. She managed to stabilize the connection so the initiate could find out more. Ultimately, the initiate discovered that Arno found a Piece of Eden underneath Saint-Denis.[3]
In 2015, Bishop dispatched Shaun and Rebecca to infiltrate Isabelle Ardant's office to determine what new Piece of Eden Abstergo was searching for. She also reestablished contact with the initiate and transferred them the genetic memories of Jacob and Evie Frye, twin Assassins who operated in Victorian London. However, Shaun and Rebecca went off-book, choosing to wait for Ardant when she entered her office, only to be held at gunpoint by Juhani Otso Berg and Violet da Costa. Bishop remotely detonated pre-planted explosives, enabling her colleagues to escape. Once Shaun and Rebecca had made it to safety, Bishop informs them that the initiate's research had identified the artifact as a Shroud of Eden and promised to send backup.[1]
Later on, as night fell in London, Bishop talked to Shaun as he was standing watch while Rebecca slept, asking why he pushed himself so hard, as it's not his job to fight Templars. Shaun then began talking about an old friend who died saving the world, before he was surprised by Galina Voronina, whom Bishop sent to aid them.<ref name="ACS">
The initiate's data synch later confirmed that the Shroud was underneath Buckingham Palace, but the Assassins chose to wait until the initiate found its precise location.<ref name="ACS">
