Port-Menier

Port-Menier is a small fishing town located on the western end of Anticosti Island, Quebec, Canada.

History[edit | edit source]

During the 18th century, the area was yet untouched by civilization, leaving the local wildlife, such as grey wolves, to thrive. In January 1752, the Assassins Shay Cormac and Liam O'Brien arrived at Port-Monier, where they went to train while their compatriot Louis-Joseph Gaultier, Chevalier de la Vérendrye, met with his smuggler allies nearby.[1]

When Shay and Liam heard cannonfire, they decided to check it out and found de la Vérendrye and his men stranded on the island, having been attacked by the Royal Navy. The three Assassins subsequently freed their captured allies and procured a new vessel, the Morrigan, for themselves to leave the island.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In Assassin's Creed: Rogue, Port-Menier is situated on a small island off the northern coast of Anticosti. In real life, it is located on the western tip of Anticosti Island itself.
