The Kappa's Hammer was a kanabō‏‎ that Yasuke obtained in 1582. That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe saw a post in Tsuruga requesting aid in taking down a league of pirates terrorizing the population of Wakasa. Following a clue to the location of one of these pirates, Little Kappa, to Maizuru's Lair, where they found him interrogating a Jesuit priest he had abducted. The pair then promptly assassinated him and retrieved the heavy weapon from his personal effects.
