Psaros Pyrgos

Psaros Pyrgos was a cave on the island of Seriphos, Greece. Found at the southwestern tip of the island, this small cave was used as a shrine.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place when she met Kallikleia and a Hekate Witch listening to a speech of Aetios, the son of a wealthy family.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The name Psaros Pyrgos (Ψαρός πῠ́ργος) means 'Speckled Tower' in Greek, though the locals call it also the 'Couch of the Cyclops'.
  • The name of the cave is a reference to a tower of marble on the island of Seriphos, in the southwestern corner like this cave, with the same name.
