Sinking a Secret was a virtual representation of one of Ratonhnhaké:ton's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus 3.0.[1]
Description
Connor was faced with a secret that would jeopardize the American Revolutionary War's funding. With this in mind, he was tasked to destroy HMS Dartmoor and its cargo before it reached Boston.
Outcome
The Dartmoor and its fleet were destroyed. Connor obtained the Pirate Flintlock.

Behind the scenes
"Sinking a Secret" is an additional naval mission in Assassin's Creed III that was originally a pre-order bonus from certain retailers. It was subsequently released as part of the downloadable Hidden Secrets pack. As a pre-order bonus and an item in Hidden Secrets, the mission was advertised under the name "A Dangerous Secret", but the mission is called "Sinking a Secret" in-game. Despite its two names and the mission's description, nothing is ever revealed about what "secrets" Dartmoor actually carries.
