The Assassin’s Creed series is an award-winning video game series that currently consists of two main games, three spin-off games, several short films, and a cancelled trilogy of novels. The entire franchise is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, with the exception of Assassin’s Creed: Altaïr’s Chronicles, which was developed by Gameloft. Between the four games, they have made appearances on the iPhone, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, PSP (Playstation Portable) and Xbox 360 platforms. The gameplay, while slightly varying from game to game, consists of a mixture of action and adventure, with a heavy emphasis on stealth. All products to date have gained some form of controversy for their adult nature and violent themes.
