Revision as of 21:06, 14 July 2012

In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, several outfits were available for Ezio Auditore to wear.

General outfits

Wearing these robes gave allowed Ezio to customize his appearance. The changes available were the armor and the dye of the clothes.

Plain robes

The suit was dark grey, with fur lining under the bracers and on the shoulder. Concept art of the outfit indicated a navy blue color scheme, along with the Masyaf seal over the belt and a cape. The E3 gameplay demo and trailer instead showed the outfit with the Assassin insignia over the belt.[1]

Ezio obtained these robes during his journey to Masyaf, where they were made and given to him in Acre.[2]

Cosmetic outfits

These outfits were for decoration purposes only, serving no other purpose than to change Ezio's looks. Armor worn would not be removed and would still add to Ezio's resistance to damage.

Turkish Assassin armor

This outfit was only available when purchasing the Special Edition of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and was available as a cosmetic outfit for Ezio to wear.[3]It was also available to those purchasing The Lost Archive DLC for Revelations.[4]

Armor of Brutus

The Armor of Brutus outfit was available to those who pre-ordered the Animus Edition and Digital Exclusive Edition of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, purchasing the game via Wal-Mart, and from purchasing The Lost Archive. The outfit featured the unbreakable armor set from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, although it offered no effect to Ezio's resistance of damage.

Ezio in Altaïr's robes

Pre-ordering the Animus Edition, Collector's Edition and Digital Exclusive Edition, along with purchasing The Lost Archive DLC of Revelations, gave access to the outfit of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad from the original Assassin's Creed, for Ezio to wear during his time in Constantinople.[4][5][6] The Animus Edition for Australia and Sweden, however, listed the skin as being "Ezio in Altaïr's Robes."[7] This was apparently erroneous, as other regions described the bonus as "Altaïr's Skin." The face was of Ezio's likeliness, however, but he also bore a missing finger.

Desmond Miles

The Desmond Miles outfit was unlocked after collecting 30 Animus data fragments and completing the Desmond's Journey memories. The outfit featured Desmond as he was shown in Brotherhood, although his facial features were as displayed in Revelations. Like any other outfit, it was merely cosmetic.

Old Altaïr's robes

Old Altaïr's Robes was available to be equipped after completing DNA Sequence 8 with 100% synchronization. Similar to Altaïr's regular robes, the face was of Ezio's likeliness, but he also bore a missing finger.

Temporary outfits

Minstrel outfit

Worn only during "The Prince's Banquet" memory, Ezio and his Assassin brethren used it to sneak into an invite-only party for Prince Suleiman, whom they believed was the target of an assassination attempt by the Byzantines. Distracting guards and civilians by singing and playing his lute, Ezio used his heightened senses to find the Byzantine assailants for the other Assassins to kill.

Janissary uniform

Worn only during the "Honor, Lost and Won" memory, Ezio used the uniform to sneak into the Janissary-controlled area, tailing his target. If Ezio walked alone or did anything that could relate him to being an Assassin, the Janissaries would immediately pull out their weapons and accuse him of being an Assassin, before attacking him.

If this happened, Desmond would become desynchronized due to being detected. A subtle difference existed between Ezio's uniform and the other Janissaries, in which the mask he wore had a deep scar on the right part of his face. At the end of the misson, Ezio assassinated Tarik Barleti and his cover is blown, leading to him removing the costume.

Hooded cloak

Worn only in Cappadocia, Ezio would put on a full-length hooded cloak to disguise himself while in the Templar-controlled city. Ezio's robes were also a faded grey, and he did not wear any armor besides his standard bracers and altered leather greaves, regardless of whatever dye or armor he may have been wearing before arriving in Cappadocia.

While walking around the city, Byzantine guards would not react to his presence, provided he didn't perform any reprehensible actions in front of them. Guards stationed on rooftops and near restricted areas, however, would detect him if he loitered too long in those areas. If Ezio had the crossbow equipped, it will not be visible; instead, he would pull it out from under the cape of his cloak.

Trivia

  • While not an official costume, a hoodless version of Ezio could be used due to a glitch. To perform the glitch, the A Little Errand memory must be replayed, before declining the mission. To put the hood back on, the mission must be played through to the end. This glitch could also work on Altaïr's robes and the Turkish Assassin armor, though the mask would still appear.
  • The Desmond outfit used his appearance from Brotherhood, albeit with a beard, rather than how he appeared on the Animus Island. This differed, as Desmond wore a black jacket and a white shirt with a black eagle pattern on the virtual island, while the outfit displayed a white jacket and a black shirt with a white eagle pattern.
  • The Altaïr and Desmond outfits used their respective voices during regular gameplay. In cinematics, however, Ezio's voice remained his own.
  • The Turkish Assassin armor was obtainable to those with a PS3 or an Xbox through registering on GameSpot and using a code generator, though it is no longer possible.
  • At certain points during general gameplay, Altaïr's robes would sometimes not be missing his ring finger on his left hand. However, this did not seem to happen during cutscenes.
