I found something you'll like ;)

We probably won't need Edward in the Mayan costume or Blackbeard, but maybe we can use the Stede Bonnet one as well? Whichever works for you, I guess; if you don't think it's necessary, we can stick with the image of Bonnet we're using now. Happy rendering! Crook The Constantine District 18:05, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Templar Tax collectors

Why did you remove my photo on the article Templar Tax Collectors?Joker (talk) 20:26, May 29, 2014 (UTC)Joker0002710

Because it was a blurry, low-res, improperly named, unsourced youtube screencap that doesn't show the character properly, and was placed randomly in the trivia section. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:52, May 29, 2014 (UTC)

Industrial Era/Empire

Hello, I'd just like to say that the Industrial revolution in Britain didn't occur until 1760 onwards - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (and the Golden Age of Piracy) is set before this (in the early 1700s), so is it possible if I could revert your edit? Should you disagree with my edit, which you seem to have done considering you labelled it "BS",  then I suggest that you check out the pages linked to it or to read the game's plot. Thanks, Italay90 (talk) 16:35, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

Last I checked the game doesn't allude to Templars using the British Empire to expand their influence. They do it on their own. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 17:38, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

This is me...

Calling bullshit at your bequest. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 18:58, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, good you've gathered those up. I'll replace them soon. Maybe even tonight. That said, it was ridiculously easy just snapping shots after pressing the Escape key, just before the menu comes up, and after the tablet moves off screen. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 19:04, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Modelling

Excuse me, Kain, but I found something on the wide world of web, and wanted to ask you about it. As you're the only person I know, besides GI, who knows about manipulating models, would you by any chance be able to use these? I don't really know what's all there, or if they're even useful, but I figured I'd go to an expert.

PS: Are there any easy-to-follow tutorials out there that I could use to pose models? This seems like a pretty cool thing to be able to do, but it looks really complicated. --Crimson Knight Intercom 21:22, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Well, those are raw models in a format that's easily openable in Blender and such. Personally, I'm using models that have been coverted for Xnalara, a program designed for posing. Then I pop the posed ones into Blender, re-apply textures and render in there, since it has better lighting. Have a look here - http://xnalara-customized.deviantart.com/gallery/ If Batman models aren't there, just pop "Batman xnalara" into the deviantart search, stuff will come up. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:27, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Pics

Hi Kain, I got an idea. When Unity comes out, do you think it would be better to upload images from memories in reverse chronological order, as those typically have more demand for them? It might be a fun experiment. --Alientraveller (talk) 19:45, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

We'll see how the replay system works with that one first. If it's the same shite thing that skips half of plot as AC3/4 replay, that option is out. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:16, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

Infobox

I'm working on Olivier's infobox. How do I hide the biographical information section?--Bovkaffe (talk) 17:02, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

Nevermind, worked it out myself.--Bovkaffe (talk) 17:08, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

No trailer shots?

Why not? It's not like there are a ton of images besides what came with the press releases. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 22:56, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

I think either Slate or Storm said so. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:00, June 16, 2014 (UTC)
And now you drag me into this :P
Trailer shots are low-quality and numerous if not kept in check. Promo images are best used...until we get in-game shots, of course. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 23:05, June 16, 2014 (UTC)
*is also dragged into the conversation*
Let me just post what I was going to before edit conflict, sort of to reiterate Storm's point:
"We tend not to use images ripped from trailers because they can be of poor quality, as well as not really representative of the game itself, moreso a marketing production. They're bound to release a wave of screenshots like the ones already on the article over the months anyway."
Edit: NO MOAR EDIT CONFLICTS. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:10, June 16, 2014 (UTC)
All right, that makes sense. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 23:07, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

You wot?

That happens a lot to pages I edit, for some reason. It's like some kind of Wikia curse that follows me around, because it happens on other wikis. Thanks for fixing it. --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:06, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

I'm all like "Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?" and then still had to fix the apostrophes. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:09, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

Melanie Lemay

'Ello, Kain.

So, I probably should have sent you this sooner, but it sort of slipped my mind. I don't really like Melanie's render, it just looks off somehow - I'm guessing it has to do with the texture map thing you mentioned? Anyways, from what I understand, your renders are either made with pre-exisiting models you found on the internet (e.g Malik) or they're ripped straight from the game, when the character is idling (e.g Rhona, Anto, Opia, etc.).

If that's wrong, then there's no point to this message, but if I'm right, could I ask you to try and render Melanie again using the second method? If that's possible, I hope I'm not too "late", seeing as Melanie only appears in the story sections and as far as I know, those are not replayable... just let me know if any of this is a possibility. Kudos on all the renders and screenshots you're pumping out btw; it's more fun to expand articles when there's nice images to add in :P Anyways, thanks for reading. Crook The Constantine District 22:16, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

I can do it, I've kept a save for future walkthrough set around Sequence 6, so I can get her screened and rendered. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:23, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

AC Memories

Hey Kain, if I upload a screenshot I took, do you think you can work your magic and crop the image for the Memories cover? Stormbeast The Helpful Place 18:09, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I suppose. I assume there isn't an official one, since you're asking. What size do you want it in, height by width. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:43, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
Whatever fits. I tried it myself, but it ended up being really blurry/pixelated. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 18:50, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, that one is waaaay too small to even upscale semi-properly. We'll have to wait for a higher res image, I'm afraid. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 19:16, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Images

Might I be so bold as to ask what's next on your "to-do list" concerning images? --Crimson Knight Intercom 21:13, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Naval contracts and what we have left for Liberation. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:35, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Oh there's a thought. Think you could add this to your list, Kain? --Crimson Knight Intercom 21:59, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
It'll get done. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 22:02, June 24, 2014 (UTC)
Actually nvm, a screenshot of Rhona holding Flint's hand when he passes away would be even better for her personality section. More dramatic :3 Again, no need to hurry with this. Do it when/if you feel like it.Crook The Constantine District 21:57, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Task

Among a pile of boring tasks, I found a little gem for you. Do you think you'd be able to take screenshots of the images in the research analyst's personal files? We need them for a lot of pages. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:52, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Sure, just give me some specifics of what you're looking for. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 14:07, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

All the images that appear in the files. Prioritizing the ones under Crypto-History. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:11, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Where should I put the Divine Science bits from the Abstergo analyst's files? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:15, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Photos or videos? Upload them and I'll make sure they'll get on the analyst's files page. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:26, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Photos. We'll see about getting any videos later. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:29, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

AC4 gun?

'ello Kain. So, a bit of a weird question, but do you know what pistol/gun the side characters use in AC4? I mean, I've looked at some of your screenshots and I've seen Aveline, Blackbeard, Charles Vane and Rhona Dinsmore all use the same model of gun, so I'm just wondering what the official name is. Maybe I should go to Crimson for this, actually :s Crook The Constantine District 15:20, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

It looks like the shortened version of basic AC4 flintlock, like ones Ed has on his chest. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:56, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, for your question about linking....

Maybe it not related. You know? The memory in bocca al lupo and mass exodus are happen in same time, but first part AC2 and last part ACB. Its a reason. Why i must place that. FarhanSF (talk) 11:05, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

One, it was a statement, not a question. Two, the fact they occur at the same time is irrelevant, they're still present in different games. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:08, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

In Bocca Al Lupo is about Ezio to Temple.. But Mass Exodus is happen at the same time, just cut because Desmond Chased by Abstergo. So, its related. If you look and play AC2 Ending& Brotherhood Prologue, its connected. FarhanSF (talk) 11:11, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

I see you're missing the point on purpose. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:25, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Another task

I might have another task for you. I'll be gone starting tomorrow until Monday, and after that I plan to make a blog on the First Civ, putting some pieces together. For that, I think it would be good to analyze something we've all quite glanced over and thus never paid attention to: the glyphs that appear when Ezio activates the Apple at the start of the Battle of Forlì. Now my question is, would you be able to take frame-by-frame shots of those few seconds to capture all the symbols that appear? If it would take too much time or effort than you can just tell me to bugger off, but I think there's some quite interesting stuff in there, and I've already taken some YouTube shots myself (but YouTube doesn't really like frame-by-frame pausing or HQ shots). Like this one with an airplane, this one with a treeeee, this one with a thing, and this one with the same thing and more airplane.

(The first one is relevant based on this transcript from Thom Kavanagh's letters; "Visions of grate Cities made of Glass; Portraits of beautiful Men and Women in great flowing Robes; Machines that generated Lightening as easily as Thunderclouds; Vehicles that flewe in the Skies as Birds...") -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:33, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

Hhmmmm... I think I could grab a save, record it, then put raw recording on playback with fullscreen and screencap from that. Same quality as taking in-game shots, since I wouldn't compress it. I shoud be able to whip this up by the weekend. I'll poke you once I have them. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:56, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

And a shot of a glowing Memory Seal like this, as they're lying on the table in the Galata hideout? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:59, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

We got one like that on the Masyaf Keys page, don't we? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:04, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, yes. I see I ripped this off someone who ripped us off. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 23:10, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

Sima, you silly. That said, I'm frightened with the speed Itays can steal our images for their own wiki. Then again, they say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:13, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

No luck yet? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:22, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

:This will take a few attempts, as apparently those images are randomized. I got the tank and space rocket on the footage I recorded. Fortunately I have a backup save to repeat the process. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:48, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

And there we go. Even got a few extras. There's also what looks like a skyscrapper, a Black Flag-esque alarm bell, and DNA helix, but I couldn't get a clear image of those. I'll keep trying later on though. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 00:27, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Perfect. Having clear images of those is good for the wiki too, in addition to having them on my blog. I am gonna poke you for the rest of the symbols though, I'm afraid (since nobody ever asks you anything), before I publish the blog. Maybe it's possible to extract these symbols from the game files? I didn't see that alarm bell or DNA helix in the vids I watched on YouTube, but I did see some other things. Namely these... blocks, this tower, this Apple?, this car, this factory thing and this tank. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:27, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

That's a steam engine, not a factory. I'll have a few more looks today, probably will be able to fish out at least a few of these. That said, you remember this image? You wanted a clearer version at one point and I uploaded it, but apparently someone deleted it, even from file history. Do you have any deletion log for that? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:51, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, a factory thing. It's not been deleted from the file history as it's still there, but it can't be viewed anymore. It's a coding error, not something I can undo. I'm not sure how that came to be. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:57, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Well, with the method I'm using for these, I should be able to get a better image of the Providence back up anyway. As for the extraction, I supposed Texmod could rip these symbols out directly, kinda like I did with the blood glyphs at Abstergo. I'll have to test that. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 13:00, July 9, 2014 (UTC)
Yep, it worked. I got all the symbols extracted, and now to just separate and upload them. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 13:18, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

I know what you meant by your edit, but the point remained the same. If it was canon in the AC universe it would not have been listed among the trivia but be in the main body of text. But your last edit points it out well enough.

Reason for this message? Drop your attitude (message #1000), because your patronizing "Because, Sima, ..." annoyed the hell out of me, and I don't need to point out to you why it did. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 14:34, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

Just wanted to ask what you'd be showing next, but since we already did the comments on youtube, that's kinda moot now. But while I'm at it, might be a good idea to the rest of the PoP games that you own after TFS, keep the continuity going and all that. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:50, July 24, 2014 (UTC)
If I was about continuity, I wouldn't have started with Forgotten Sands. I might record the Sands of Time eventually, definitely not Warrior Within and probably not Two Thrones. Once this is finished, there's a high chance of Portal 2. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:54, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Guild of Rogues

'ello Kain,

So we finally have decent quality images for the Guild of Rogues characters - Shaman, Siren and Stowaway - thanks to Guillaume Arvieu. Could I ask you to render them for me? I'd do it myself but my sister has decided to abscond with my laptop for a week and I don't really fancy rendering images in paint :s

(I'd also like to remind you of the images I requested for Madame John's Legacy and Congo Square; could you get those done any time soon? Sorry if I seem impatient ^^;) Thanks for reading. Crook The Constantine District 11:13, July 29, 2014 (UTC)

Final warning

"I learned what becomes of those who lift themselves above others..."

Patience is a virtue that many of us do not spare lightly, and indeed, we have fairly rationed it, but it seems that we cannot come to an agreement. As a community, what the administration requires from its editors is not obedience, but cooperation.

If you cannot offer that, then our ultimatum is such: cease and desist.
This is your final warning. Our patience is at our limit. Arrivederci.

""Here, let me randomly put this image in the spot it doesn't belong.""
―Kain acting superior to a new user

Sa far, we have been incredibly lenient with regards to your attitude. However, your behaviour continues to fly in the face of many of our regular users, as well as the new and unregistered contributors that do not know you as well as we do. Due to your attitude, the wiki becomes a less friendly place, making it less welcoming to new users. As the section title already stated, this is your final warning. If we see you leaving one more degrading, insulting, rude or offensive comment or edit summary, you're gone. Nesty Contact me! 15:00, July 29, 2014 (UTC)

To add to that, I have also counted the number of times you have already been warned for your attitude on your archives that I could find in your talk page archives.

1. February 2, 2012 – Master Sima Yi
2. August 16, 2012 – Master Sima Yi
3. September 12, 2012 – Master Sima Yi
4. September 20, 2012 – Master Sima Yi
5. November 21, 2012 – Amnestyyy
6. November 13, 2013 – Master Sima Yi
7. November 23, 2013 – Master Sima Yi
8. November 23, 2013 – Amnestyyy

Note that as of the first warning you have already been warned a few times, as noted in the message.

Yet you keep acting superior to every new contributor who does not quite understand our, compared to other wikis, detailed policies and rules. The wiki is not a place to take your frustration out on people, everyone is equal here. I hope that you finally understand the gravity of the situation, because I feel like we're not taken seriously regarding the amount of times we've warned you and you just ignore us.

If you keep this up, it would be a shame to both yourself and this wiki, because as you well know you've made a lot of valuable contributions to the wiki. But you're part of the community, like everyone else. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:18, July 29, 2014 (UTC)

Master of the Sacred Palace

So, I noticed something out of sorts when uploading the images for Man in Red. The cardinal seems to be in charge, but the monk looks like the Master. However, the monk is named Giuliano...unless the conversation was supposed to be switched. :/ Stormbeast The Helpful Place 17:42, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

This is what we get for asset reuse, sloppy scripts and headscratching. I'll throw the image out of Master's article, since the dialogue seems to indicate this was supposed to be a regular monk. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:43, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

The very last time (maybe...)

Hey Kain,

I realize we're all bugging you to take these screenshots for us, so... please don't kill me, cause I need to ask you for some more. Thank you by the way, for getting round to Madame John's Legacy and Congo Square, I really appreciate that.

Soo, I'm working on New Orleans' article right now, and I need screenshots of the following:

  • New Orleans itself; draw distance is likely gonna be a bitch on that one, but eh. Saint Louis Cathedral should definitely be in the shot. I did consider one of the New Orleans by Night images, but there wasn't enough of the city itself in it.
  • French soldiers in New Orleans, to represent the slow transition from French to Spanish rule - I'd suggest a shot at the Place d'Armes? There's usually a large-ish group of them set up in front of one the Governor's Mansion's entrances, I think. If that's not possible, then any shot of French guards will do, really.
  • Barricades during the Louisiana Rebellion (bonus points if you can get civilians pushing against a Spanish guard in the shot). I know we have concept art for it, but I'd prefer to use that in the gallery.
  • One of New Orleans' more opulent streets (two/three-storey buildings with balconies, brick roads and flowers pots and such - found in the south of the map).
  • New Orleans' poorer streets (ground-level buildings out of wood, no pavements, possibly with animals - found in the north of the map).

I'll use a promotional screenshot for the port and probably ignore the plantation located outside New Orleans. As always, you are free to do these screenshots at your leisure; sooner would be awesome, but god knows I hound you for these enough already. After New Orleans, I doubt I will need more screenshots of Liberation, so uh, see it as the last stretch? ^^; Crook The Constantine District 21:58, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

'Aight, give me the weekend and I should get most of this done. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 23:02, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks for getting it done so fast. Good eye, too by the way, for seeing Agaté's Hut. So... I just remembered one more thing. Mardi Gras decorations. Those might be a little annoying to get, I don't know when they're seen in New Orleans. I hope it's not just Sequence 1...
Could I ask you to take a screenshot of those as well? That really should be it for New Orleans then. By the way, I appreciate you going above and beyond what I've already asked you to screenshot :)Crook The Constantine District 13:07, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Apologies for spamming you like this, but I thought I'd clear this up now. If I create AC4 weapons pages now-ish, would you be able to easily track down the pages and add images to them individually at a later point, or would you prefer it if I waited and you could add the images to my sandbox all at once? --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:29, August 4, 2014 (UTC)

I'll manage if you put them up now. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:06, August 4, 2014 (UTC)
