Original text: Minerva explains that she and her race were part of an advanced society that settled on Earth before a celestial event that destroyed most of the life on Earth. The remaining members of her species rebuilt the world as best they could and created humans in their own image. The two races lived side by side for a time before eventually coming to war. The humans seemingly won and those remaining of the advanced race sealed themselves in temples around the world, hoping to prevent the same disaster that had destroyed most of their kind from occurring once more. As Minerva finishes, she speaks to Desmond by name and informs him that she has done all she needs to and the rest remains up him and his allies.

New text: Minerva explains that she and her race were part of an advanced society that settled on Earth and created humans in their own image to serve as a work force to help them. They also made them susceptable to the effects of the Pieces of Eden so They could control them. However, a war broke out between the two kinds (presumeably started by "Adam" and "Eve"'s theft of at least one or more Apples). While Those Who Came Before were distracted, a presumed solar flare occured and "turned the world to ash", almost effectively wiping out both kinds at once. The remaining members of both kinds began working together to rebuild their world. As the remaining members of Those Who Came Before slowly died out, they sealed messages from themselves in temples around the world, hoping to prevent the same disaster that had destroyed most of their kind and humankind from occuring once more. As Minerva finishes, she speaks to Desmond by name and informs his that she has done all she needs to and the rest remains up to him and his allies to find the temples that will save the Earth from being destroyed once again.
