Wangxian Palace

The Wangxian Palace (王洛卿) was a palace in the city of Xianyang, China.

History

In 757, the royal entourage of Emperor Xuanzong was to arrive at the palace after they had fled from the capital of Chang'an in the midst of an upcoming invasion by general An Lushan's Yeluohe army. Ahead of his arrival, the high-ranking eunuch Gao Lishi had dispatch an underling eunuch by the name of Wang Luoqing to the palace to tidy up the area and prepare food for the Emperor and the royal family. However, Wang Luoqing secretly colluded with the palace magistrate and stole all of its grain supplies and subsequently fled, defying Gao Lishi's orders.[1]
