The Nornir, from left to right: Verðandi, Skuld, Urðr

Urðr was one of three Nornir in Norse mythology. [citation needed]

Mythology

Along with Verðandi and Skuld, Urdr was one of the Nornir, women who were at the birth of every child, deciding its fate. Urdr represented the past, whilst the other two represented the present and future.[1]

In Asgard, Havi was approached by the Nornir at his throne atop Heimdall's tower in Asgard about an upcoming catastrophe.[2]

In the southeast of Asgard was a well named after her, beneath Yggdrasil, where the Nornir resided.[3]
