Stalkers are marked by a white dagger on the map, making them harder to spot, there is a thieves challenge to kill 5 of them before they manage to stab you, they are very rare around the city and a scripted stalker can be found in sequence 5 memory 1, making it easier for you to complete the challenge.

Stalkers were Byzantine assailants out to kill the Assassin Ezio Auditore in the city of Constantinople during 1511. When they found Ezio in the city, they would sneak up behind him and attempt to stab him. However, they were often disarmed by Ezio and killed before they could stab him. Ezio could either ignore or kill the stalkers.
