Polemarchus (died 404 BCE) was an Athenian man who allied with the Athenian general Thrasybulus against the Thirty Tyrants' reign.
Biography
Polemarchus worked with the thief "The Nightjar" and his group in order to sell weapons to Thrasybulus in Boeotia. The Thirty Tyrants' leader Critias eventually learned of his involvement and had the Spartan soldier Bakchos beat the Athenian for this while a hoplite searched his cart for evidence of collaboration. When the Spartan found a pouch of Boeotian drachmae, Critias ordered Polemarchus' summary execution.
